Just receive offer from a ministry, pay package quite decent compared to my current but offered same grade as my grade in my current ministry. But Im expecting my promotion soon. No plans to transfer scheme. Anyone have any experience negotiating for higher grade instead?

Oh thanks!
But then, wad’s the difference then from a MX doing comms? Is it more stringent to become an info officer? the website only seems to suggest that an info officer will only do comms work so not sure what diff it is frm what an MX might do...

The difference is that IO officers are expected to rotate between agencies every few years. Junior officers up to MX12 rotate every 2 years, while MX11 and higher rotate every 3 years. I use the word agencies instead of Ministries because while rotations mostly happen within Ministries, sometimes there are stat board openings as well.

Thinking of changing jobs btw agencies, as I do not foresee myself remaining in my current agency. Is it advisable to resign before securing an offer from another agency? Thinking abt my mental health and how I have no capacity to job hunt properly now
But worried that resigning means I "start over" from scratch and risk not carrying over my YOE

think the timing of the promotion here matters uh... is it like from Apr?
coz if so, think you might be able to ask... but i think it might also matter whether the Ministry has space at the higher grade... or could be a case where the grade is over two grades (e.g. - 11A/10) so there's room to take on the higher role?
congrats on the promotion though =)
