Engineer with 7 years experience asking for 4.5k still no call for interview.
Not really. It just means either your particular discipline is not paying well or that your exposure is not attractive to good employers.

Look at fit and whether your bosses invest in your development. Never just think company size.
It's just one of those standard interview answers given by people who have lackluster careers as a jack of all trades in SMEs. I do many interview before and those who are high performers in SMEs will tell you about specific achievements in terms of cost, revenue, customers, deliverable and how they helped the company to achieve its goals.

The mediocre ones often go back to the usual talking points about how much of every department they know by doing a bit here and there because they have no tangible things to talk about. These people were basically just performing sundry labour and administration in the company, so they spin it as having the know how in running the whole business.

I hope you're not referring to me as one of the "people who have lackluster careers as a jack of all trades in SMEs".

I raised my point because I've been on both ends and thankfully, after about 5 years, settled in a role doing important stuff and not just "knowing everyone in every department." And I am in a small business and am contented.

Nope, just talking about general observations. Not targeting anyone as individual stories are not verifiable anyway so no interest in debating on particular case.

Hi guys, may I ask what is NS allowance. Does all companies give monthly NS allowance on top of their basic salary?

NS allowance for those who have served NS.

All public sector organisations and most GLC companies should have.

the Private sector companies i have been in or heard of, do not have NS allowance.

Engineer's nightmare: the p.e. exams.

Tough life; went for interview, interviewers insist that I clear the p.e. exam & get license within a specified time frame.

Its been a long time since I last hit the books.

Not sure what to do.

You're not a certified professional engineer and you applied for an engineer position?

Which engineering discipline are you from?
