Confused US vs SGP
I am a Staff Engineer in US with a salary of US $100K per anum, now in order to have the same match of savings , i will require $140K SGP... do you think i will get this much of salary, i am a embedded software developer ?
Has anyone moved from US to SGP ?
Is it a wise decision ?

Singapore's tax and cost of living are much lower than many western countries. To have the "same match of savings", you probably need only $100K SGP.

I moved from US to SG. Always take into account that in the US, if you make around 100k, by the time you're done paying Federal, State, and City tax plus your Medicare and Social Security, you're lopping off around 40% off your pay.
in Singapore, at 110k SGD, you probably will have more left over actually.
Although I have to warn you - alcohol prices here are out of this world. I certainly drank a LOT less than I did when I lived in the US... don't know if that's a good or bad thing!

with all due respect, with only 5 years experience 6.5k p/m is a good deal, on the upper end of the range. Of course, they are a lot of forumners who may say other else, its seems salary listed here seem rather unrealistic.

Hi,
I have 10 years of experience in sales and marketing and about to get an offer from a Singapore firm for senior sales manager.
Can you pls let me know if 250K SGD is good pay package. I have 1 child and a wife. How much will I get in hand after tax.
