It is just unfortunate that in sg now, an above average salary can't get you an above average lifestyle anymore.

From the perspective of a single, above average lifestyle = own 2 ocr condos, 2-3 holidays a year (fly in business class), regular restaurant meals etc.

Of course, we can still afford an average lifestyle (hdb, hawker meals regularly, 2-3 holidays a year in economy class etc)

So it's not so much that we are paid poorly compared to older generation of Drs, just that inflation has eroded into our QOL.
Technically wage growth should track inflation.

2 ocr condo is 4mil, u need 32k salary per mth to defend 4mil condo (ie 3mil loan)
2 biz class trips to tokyo is abt 12k. Plus accom Maybe need 24k a year or 2k per mth

I think earn 34k a mth is possible

34k hard for doctors in their 30s.
Single Dr mostly earn 20-25k (fm prob less). 34k need a couple (i.e husband and wife doctors)

Is working in government restructured hospital less stressful? Lower pay but better working hours?

Or actually is better pay and better hours than private? Have your cake and eat it situation?

To be honest, what Geri can do, Fam Med can also.

Cos Fam Med sees so many elderly anyway.
