Everyone starts small unless you got rich parents.

Hey if you got $7,200 then you made $480. Also not bad right?
$7,200 then becomes $7680.

The whole idea is to START.

There is also such a thing as equity loan for private property. That is a loan u can take when yr private property goes up in value. Not supposed to use it for buying another property but for buying shares or doing business. But bank cannot check also.

When our freehold landed jumped in value from S$1.1 mil to S$1.8 mil in 3 years, we took an equity loan of S$400k and bought in full cash our JB semid. Eventually paid up the loan by selling our landed which I regret cause it went up by another S$1.2 mil!

Just an idea for u guys to invest by leveraging. Can also use cpf to invest if u r confident.

Actually S$7200 invested will earn you S$4800 not S$480.

Very well done.

I just sold one of my houses as well for a tidy profit.

These are the kind of ways to ACTUALLY get rich and retire early.

It is NOT, I repeat NOT locuming more, working harder for that measly 10k extra "substantial" bonus from getting A vs B.

I guess I shouldn't say too much liao. Wait all the drs dowan see patients anymore. LOL

So $7200 becomes $12,000.

That's already like half of that extra $10k for getting A vs B right? LOL!

Other more conservative ways to grow yr money is putting un FDs, buy T bills, salary crediting with UOB one account, giving yr parents' allowance through topping up their SA and putting money in SRS and investing it. Last 2 methods help to reduce income tax. It will save u some money though may not be enough to beat inflation. Still better than putting money in normal savings account.

In the Singapore setting property is the best investment class.

It is quite standard. Get a HDB flat then rent it out. Buy a condo to stay. Rental from the HDB flat practically pays for the condo so you own 2 properties and not have to really pay extra. And then leverage up. Singapore govt is committed to supporting the property market in SG.

It is not the same in other countries though. Property market doesn't behave the same.

Stock market is way more liquid but volatile. You really need to know what you are investing in.

For a long time interest rates were so low that Fixed D T bills etc all made such low returns that it wasn't worthwhile. We are not out of the woods with inflation from what I have seen. OPEC just announced production cuts yesterday.

Those US banks holding T bills whose yields continue to rise does not bode well for them. Meanwhile the Fed might not have much choice but to continue raising rates which will further exacerbate the fall in bond markets.

Look to the Japan Central Bank as a possible candidate to collapse.

But timing is very important. News just reported that a condo bought at a high in 2013 was sold at 50% loss recently.

I was fortunate that I bought in 2002 after SARS, 2010 just after Lehman Bros so my EC and freehold landed were sold for S$1 mil profit.

Bought my 999 year condo in 2018, that wasn't really a low like the other 2 but Covid period all properties went up.

So now property market is at a high. With rising interest rates and inflation and a possible recession coming, I don't think now is a good time to buy.

I am usually quite good at forecasting trends.

Like I fortunately freelooked a S$50k Tokyo Marine investment fund in 2021 when stock markets were at a high and got them to return my money. Soon after Ukraine war happened and stocks all fell.

If there is massive quantitative easing again we will see
Property and equities rise once more.
The financial system is quite broken already after they messed with printing money during covid
