Yeap, none of those who went Sheridan are JLCs. Most are first class NUS / London, with rejection from JLC.

The JLCs in private are mostly in top International Firms like Sidley, Clifford Chance, Baker, and Dentons.

Is it worth going Sheridan? How is the pay like/career progression?

Heard it's low 6ks? Practically impossible to join directly. A lot of the existing fellows served as teaching assistants or research associates for years in order to have some publications to apply

Is sheridan fellows like inhouse counsels? for people who cannot make it in practice?

If you are true Oxbridge or Harvard (ie your UNDERGRAD / JD degree is from those esteemed places), the universities treat you differently. No need Sheridan, go straight to assoc Prof.

See eg Prof Ben Ong from SMU, proper Oxford undergrad degree.

But if your undergrad is say NUS/London, regardless of where your Masters are from (everyone knows you just need to pay), they make you go through a “Sheridan’s Fellow” as a testing ground to see if you can prove your worth…and eventually make it to Assoc Prof and Assistant Prof.
