See eg Prof Ben Ong from SMU, proper Oxford undergrad degree.
But if your undergrad is say NUS/London, regardless of where your Masters are from (everyone knows you just need to pay), they make you go through a “Sheridan’s Fellow” as a testing ground to see if you can prove your worth…and eventually make it to Assoc Prof and Assistant Prof.

Oh plz. Most of those who go straight to unis without a pitstop as JLC was because they couldn’t get the latter. There are exceptions but these are very few and far between.

Promotion in academia depends on a number of factors.
Publications, teaching awards and overall reputation.
Assistant professor in Singapore is an entry level position (equivalent to lecturer in traditional British universities). These are not tenured position.

So what's the B4 payscale now? Is the below correct? And which B4 pays at the highest end of the range and does it differ by practice group/department?
NQ: 7.5K to 7.8K
1 PQE: 8.5K to 9.5K
2PQE: 9K to 10.5K
3PQE: 10.5K to 11.8K
4PQE: 12.5K to 13.4K
5PQE and above: >15.2K

Lol no one from Rodyk uses the term Big 5 either. Only the obnoxious signature graphic on Rodyk's emails uses the term Big 5.
