I keep seeing “frontload” being used. Does this mean their pay includes their bonuses already, and there is no other component? Is this common practice among law firms?

Just puzzled how law firms incentivize performance. I work in a FI and we get performance bonuses which means we do chiong abit.

So quoting a post below: this is all they get and no more? Strikes me as unusual.

“ A1 - 6.5
A2 - 7.4
A3 - 8.6
SA1 - 10
SA2 - 11.5
SA3 - 12.6”
got bonus and frontload bonus. they started this practice so firms only need to pay base salary when you put in your notice to quit, while inflating salary to attract talent.

hearsay before frontload, bonus was 3-6 months, but now with frontload, bonus only 1-3 months. anyone else who knows better and confirm/deny this.

You’re not a professional though. Maybe that’s why need bonus to make you do your job.

Fierce. The typical IB earns more than a lawyer. Reign in your "professional" pride.

Hi, I am an NUS graduate with FCH and am working at a B4. I am also single and looking to mingle. Before Covid hit, I had gotten close with one of my colleagues and we would have lunch together every day at work. I had originally carried a condom in my wallet every day, but after a while I gave up because I realised that I respected her and her work too much to do that to her. I had once attempted to take our relationship to the next level, but other than some heavy petting after a night out of drinks, nothing came of it. So, my question to everyone is, how much are international firms paying for 3 - 5 PQE and how easy is it to jump ship?

I’m a dude who got jilted recently by a law girl in a big 4.
I wanna win her hands down.

So the question is what is the entry requirements for Harvard LLM.
Oxford and Cambridge list out all their requirements but Harvard is quite secretive

You couldn't get it out of the wallet or couldn't get it out of the wrapper?
