if it is possible to do so, why not? 2 day salary just treat it as an experience.

agreed. It's only 2 days salary, i would forgo the salary then to live with the trauma or stress. I have been thru such a toxic environment and I quite without a job. It was my first job after graduating and it really caused me phobia and trauma, I was so afraid that the next job or rather all companies would be like that and I wouldn't be able to earn my own keep. Thankfully my subsequent jobs were all in established MNCs and I was very happy and did not encounter the same environment again (*touch wood*).

Is this a local agri firm? listed?

It's a local agri firm. Very "chinese" culture as described by employees here. All my previous bosses are chinese too but they are nice and professional. This is the 1st time i'm facing a problem in adapting to a work culture. Thanks to all your advice, i've decided to resign this week. Havent decide whether to call in or submit letter and serve 2 days notice...

The HR policies might be strict, but i do not really see it as worth quitting over unless:

1) You keep using hp all the time
2) You keep wanting to take breaks and relax at the pantry all the time

So what if your CEO checks if you are working all the time?

The only reason why you are so afraid of being "caught" by your CEO is because you are always not working and doing stuff like playing games on your hp and surfing facebook on your pc.

Those points you list are actually minor annoyances but i can see that for a lazy and zobolan worker, it is really scary for you.

It would be a correct choice for you to quit, but you also need to reflect that you are also not a good worker.

Maybe you have not really understood the situation maybe you are one of those non-professional styled management yourself, maybe you are a sadistic self-inflicting person. This is 2016, where humanitarian forces & basic ethics are a given-and-expected in any work culture. Where have you been all these while? Imagine it is your own son/daughter/niece/nephew/even another human being being abused at work and living in constant (realistic) fear.....you will ask the person to stay. Forget about rationalising -because the basic rules are not even there. This is non feudal times. He is fallible to further investigations should any of his ex workers complain. It may not be physical abuse but isn't mental emotional verbal abuse affecting our well-being too?

There have always been complaints about bad behaviour, politics and backstabbing, and it is always the problematic people who complain the most and the loudest.

Why is the boss always screaming at you, boss fault.

Why cannot use pantry, HR fault.

Why cannot use hp, HR fault.

Why do my colleagues backstab me, colleagues fault.

At no point in time do you even consider that perhaps you are at fault.

How can ppl even backstab you if you are a good worker? Oh... So and so complain to boss that I stole stationery from cupboard. So and so complain to boss I always late. So and so complain to boss I **** in toilet never flush.

While bad company culture exist, bad workers also exist. If you simply work on bettering yourselves, it will reduce a lot of problems you perceive. Simply because part of the problem is you.

There is nothing about companies having to pamper spoilt brats in 2016. In this day and age, it is a fact that human rights etc exist. It is also a fact that there are a lot of spoilt brats currently unemployed, or never really amounting to much in their careers.

Sometimes it's a matter of perspective and who one chooses to believe in.

As outsiders, we will never know where the real problem lies. What we know are what Meanieeass has described from his/her perspective. It might be biased and certain inconvenient facts might have been suppressed. Perhaps the boss sees it differently, and both parties have a strained working relationship due to some past issues, which were not revealed.

What we know objectively is the HR policy is strict. Up to individuals to judge based on their own standards. Whether the boss really unjustifiably scold his workers or not we do not know.

But currently the boss sounds psychotic and needs psychiatric help.

Pray the boss' loved ones do not end up like this victim ... If it gets him to understand the fear gg to work, daily. Be in his shoes, ie. But there will be people who are just not using their hearts to feel. (Not saying being totally emotional - that's self sabotaging too)

That is why there are a lot of bosses who are bullies but managed to get away ? Have you ever been bullied by a boss ? So when you know clearly you are been bullied, you still have to 'reflect' whether is your fault ? How pathetic ! As employees, we also have our rights NOT to be treated unfairly. We do not owe the boss and company !
