Foreign banks pay a hell lot compared to local banks for fresh entry roles
Demoralising
Though Local banks balance sheet are stronger to withstand any shocks, it's definitely ideal to go foreign for a substantial period and go back to local for retirement
That's the trend tht is evident

Not the previous poster but I can give you an example. During my time, ocbc was paying about 3.2 or 3.4 for a software engineer, deutschebank was offering 4.8 for the same role. This was around 2yrs back.

It is better to compare annual compensation. Real Foreign banks generally do not give any bonus. Local banks give 3-5 months bonus on average while foreign banks get 0-1month only. not to mention much longer working hours at foreign banks (in general). Would you rather be paid $4k per month with 4months bonus or you get $4.5k with no bonus?

I agree with you, annual compensation is a more accurate measure of the payout.
Your estimate of 0-1 mth is actually too pessimistic. According to my peers who joined investment banks, it was more like 2-3 mths for the last two years. Not certain about ocbc though.
Whether the hours are long depends on your exact role and there actually more 9-5 type of roles than those that require you to put in 60+hrs/week. The latter would be more like equity research and etc but they also get more, like around 7k.

Singapore Crickect Club Sex Scandal Rachel Koh & David Yeo
Singapore Crickect Club office romance between Rachel Koh Ghim Yin & David Yeo Kwang Yong.
Both come to work, breakfast, lunch, tea break, on training course & go home together at the same time. Their daily honey words conversations always gave the goosepimple.
Both married but not to each other. Check out baby Sky photo at rachelkoh80s@instagram who look very much like David Yeo who was given birth by Rachel Koh in Feb 14.
Rachel Koh assistant Finance Manager abused her power by promoting her lover David Yeo the retarded to assistant accountant at Singapore Crickect Club back in Dec 2013.

Hi, how much was your starting pay when you graduated? Your pay is really good.
I guess you're a credit research analyst and not credit risk dept right?

Foreign high 4s, local low 3s for same role
Even with bonus. Foreign wins hands down
