I'm currently turned between IB front office and being a commodities trader. I'm q fresh grad from NUS, can someone in the know advice me? Is a commodity trading job hard to land?

how abt getting actual job offer first? its not up to u to turn IB or trading.

Correct, they're also very different, so your question indicates that you have not done your research at all, and hence won't getting either.

The fact that he said he is torn, I believe that's what he meant and not "turned", between IB front office and being a commodities trader goes to show that he recognizes the differences between the two and thus want people to shed some insight on either roles.
But I agree, maybe he should get some offers first.

IB graduate programmes are definitely the hardest to get in, with regards to the available roles for fresh grads in the banking sector. Obviously, the difficulty and exclusivity is usually driven by the branding of the bank.
Commodity trading roles sound a lot more glamorous than they really are. Sugar, coffee beans... these are all considered as commodities as well. Do you really want to be a sugar trader?
