Higher monthly pay with no bonus vs Annual package
Hi,
If both jobs pays the same amount in terms of annual package. Which salary package is better?
1. Job A offers higher monthly without any bonus.
2. Job B offers lower monthly with bonus.

get the higher basic one..
assume annual package = 60000
Job A = 60000/12 = 5000/mth, 12mth salary only
Job B = 60000/16 = 3750/mth, 12mth + 1aws + 3bonus
let say after 5 year with either Job A or B, you intend to jump ship to another company that offer you 20% increment in basic.
5000--->6000
3750--->4500
see 4 yourself

Get the higher monthly salary without bonus. For two reasons.
1) Companies will cut back on bonus during bad times.
2) Easier to negotiate for a better package for your next job.

No need to think one lah.
Go for higher basic straight away.
Imagine you want to change job, if based on bonus, then got to wait till bonus month. On the other hand, the higher basic but no bonus job, you can leave in any month. Sometime the new company cannot wait.
