Best to check with your HR or your employment contract. For some companies including mine, to "earn" our bonus, we need to work through the bonus month and then only throw letter giving another month notice. For eg., if our bonus was paid on 25th Jul, we can only keep the bonus if we throw letter on 1 Aug giving a month's notice - ie last day on 30 Aug.

I am working under NHG and you can resign on 1st Aug to retain the bonus.
