ex dc planner
worked at dc many years ago. good culture, work life balance and colleagues are nice. many events and activities and colleagues are usually supportive of each other. if you get to know the right colleagues your life will be very fun. pay is decently average at the lower end, after couple promotions gets a lot better. promotion wise, not easy...too many scholars there. big positions are reserved for them.

URA career
Management will make sure that high profile port folio are given to the selected scholars. This is to ensure that they are visible and 'deserve' the preset promotions. If project is big, they will be the OIC and are designated helps by others. This is particularly skewed in the Urban Design department.
Good place for fresh grad to start career as salary is high. Don't be intimated by too many scholars, they are not as capable as they are made up to be. but not a place to stay on for career progression.
