http://www.salary.sg/2012/top-100-jo...ingapore-2012/

Fresh grads:
NUS: employment rate 84.4% Median Monthly Gross Starting Salary $3184
NTU: employment rate 88.4% Median Monthly Gross Starting Salary $3200
But when it comes to their MOM's survey by age group. For establishments >200 employees:

How true is this? or did they just interview the whole shell or exxonmobil company and call it a day?

10k too high or too low? This whole forum is full of people making 200-300k you know. But it's not that unbelievable. At least they don't claim to be paid a million dollars like our esteemed ministers.

Chemical engineer
25-29
no. covered: 50
basic: $4,455
gross: $4,694
how they define basic = 4455 ??
do you mean 4455 = annual salary(inclusive aws+bonus) divided 12 or annual is 4455 x 12 = 53k/annum ??
or it is 4455 is pure basic, meaning annual annual salary = 12 + aws + bonus = approx 17 mth x 4455 = 75k/annum ??
it mean a difference of 20k in annual salary!!!
last heard of exxon fresh grad(2011) getting 3650 regardless of class of honours + fix 3mth aws + 2-3 variable bonus = 12+3+min2bonus = 17 x 3650 = 62k/annum

MA programs for engineers in petrochemicals easily reach 10k before 30 yrs old.
I suspect the median numbers are skewed low due to many SMEs mislabeling their general engineers under "chemical engineering" For eg
Quote:
40 - 49
no.: 152
basic: $7,505
gross: $8,593

This makes no sense at all. A chem engineer in his 40s should be at least 14-18k.

The numbers not realistic. Base on survey by robert walter, chem engineer with 5-10yr exp should be 150k to 180k
