Civil Svc/ Statboard - Typical Timeline for making a Hiring Decision

Hi all,

Does anyone know if stat boards and ministries are conducting interviews at the moment? My interview got postponed due to phase 2 measures. Am wondering if it indicates that this role isn’t actually in demand or important.

Yup, they are still conducting virtual interviews. Not sure why your interview got postponed. What role is this? Is it a physical interview?

Thanks so much for the answer! Nope it’s actually an analyst role at MHA. So it made me wonder if they weren’t looking to fill the role urgently. They have also been regularly posting ads for this role on careers gov. Thanks though!

Applied 18th March.

Interview 7th April.

Verbal offer of salary, AL, medical benefits was made on the 3rd of May.

HR said Senior Manager needs to approve before Vital takes over the signing process.

Called them up last Friday and they said that the bosses yet to approve the contract

Is there a chance that they may retract the offer?

After the second interview, HR informed me that they would proceed with the recruitment process and subsequently updated me every week that the process is still on-going. but it has been 4 weeks... not sure if they are also looking for other better candidates to fill in the role....

Have interviewed a SB last month, and the HR contacted me 3 hrs after the second interview and informed me that they were keen to proceed with the recruitment process. The next week the HR updated me that she would put up the approval and updated me every subsequent week that the process is still on-going. But it has been 1 month....I am not sure if it is the delay strategy for them to find better candidates? Anyone experienced this before? Or any insider from HR?

Have you negotiated your salary with them? What are they putting up approval for? 1 month seems very long.

care to share which SB? it's possible the process is really ongoing cuz the dept budget not confirmed yet or memo not put up yet or memo not approved yet.

there should be 2 rounds.

depends on what is considered "attractive" for you. i would say executives are considered highly paid in my opinion.

typical govt/SB culture. not very positive i feel.

i know of someone who join as an executive and then left in 3 months.

Does anyone know what does the clearance mean in LTA? I’m still waiting to obtain clearance for my application.
