Default is it necessary that company only accept female for HR jobs?

Hi guys,

I am planning studying HRM part time degree and work in a HR field while studying.

Is it true that it will be difficult for male to look for HR jobs?

I think HR will be more than willing to accept males after having to look at so many females.

HAHHA... So far in my short career in HR, I only worked with 3 males in this line. Mostly are females.

Hey Kelvin, I don't know if you are still on this forum since it has been quite some time but I was wondering if you could help a stranger out. I am going for an interview to one of the Recruitment firms mentioned by you as a Recruitment Consultant. I am a graduate (non-local) with 2 years of sales experience. Can you share with me your offer as I am clueless as to how much basic to start any negotiation. Perhaps you can private message me? (I am new to this forum and do not know how to do that). I would greatly appreciate your help.

Usually start off as a researcher around 2.4 - 2.8

Consultant Level is around 3.2 - 4.5

Senior Consultant 4.5 to about 6.5

RW and Page is discretionary bonus.

Hays and Hudson commission is more transparent.

Default Curious

Hi,

I'm a line manager (male) in a bank, but i've always thought about the possibility of
transferring internally to the HR dept as I have this illusion/perception that HR work can be pretty fun? I mean like resourcing, conducting interviews, looking at people's salaries..?

sure there's also lots of admin like handling the leave system, MCs, internal courses, performance reviews etc etc, plus biggest downside is probably conducting interviews at very early or late hours, but overall the job doesn't seem to be very stressful..?

I'm just looking from an outsider's perspective. Can anyone from HR give me a more realistic/balanced view on the real pros/cons of working in HR?

Hi, Thank you very much for your input. Do you have more information about the RW and MP discretionary bonus? What metrics do they base their decision on when appraising for the discretionary bonus? Also, how is their pay structured? Is it a base salary with a monthly commission or quarterly bonus?

The company I am interviewing with is one of them and the position I am interested in Recruit Consultant. I wish to know how to negotiate for a better pay with them.
