Career in healthcare/bioinformatics

Hi, I am graduating this year and am offered a role as an AI Engineer in a healthcare company working with genome sequencing. Is there a future in this type of career if I want to pivot into data scientist or machine learning engineer role?

I consider a career in healthcare to be very good choice. But one shouldn't choose such a career unless he or she is interested in becoming a doctor or nurse. As you know, it takes a lot of time and effort to go through med school and realizing that it's not what you see yourself doing could be a huge problem. I myself would like to become a doctor and am currently documenting on datica.com about everything related to healthcare. There is a saying that a doctor or a teacher cannot be made they are simply born for that, te good ones I mean.

Thanks for your insights. But actually one does not need to become a doctor or go med school to work as an AI engineer in the genomics sector. Even if you go for further studies, you ideally would want to pursue something related to bioinformatics/machine learning/stats.

It's the difference between wet lab (traditional science) and dry lab (computational methods).
