5k for internship very believable la but only if you're in consulting or high finance and maybe tech.
MS, GS, JPM, Citi, Barclays, Nomura... Etc large foreign banks all pay their Sales and Trading and Investment Banking interns 8 - 10k. JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs even send their interns to HK for all expenses paid training.
But the chances of landing those internships are super slim.
When you're unaware, it doesn't mean that these internships don't exist. Please update yourself with the current climate before you come here to kpkb.

I’m a current off-cycle intern with Nomura. From Corp. Infrastructure Tech and have other interns in S&T (Nomura does not hire interns for front office).
Anyway, our stipends aren’t even close to 8K. I wonder which skitzo perpetuates the myth. All interns and first year analysts at Nomura have their salary at 4K

Besides, Nomura isn't BB. Hope this helps.

This has proven to be one of the most toxic threads I have come across. No point dissing someone else's salary just because you are front office/ comparing your friend's bulge pay. Lets just hope that the graduating class can find stable and decent jobs in the current economic climate.

Is it true that Citi is giving all their summer interns conversion to FT?

They have rescinded majority of the FT offers for this year’s incoming analyst class across divisions.... so i would say it’s true? Because they can make whatever offers to next year’s class but they can always rescind it before the start date.

Yes i have also heard about this. They left these interns (who for the most part have gone around boasting to their friends that they’ve got a FT offer) high and dry. Just plain unlucky.
