Life is short , do whatever that make you feel happy. Money can always earn back one.

Bad advice. I heard that one too many times and believed it. End up my ability to earn money became impaired compared to peers who worked hard to cultivate their money-making abilities while I did what I was "passionate" in.

To each their own.
I took a sabbatical at 30. 2 years in australia.

I was burn-out and opted for an MBA and i came back stronger.
I had a 40% payrise within 5yrs and about 230% payrise in 10 years.

The opportunity cost of my 2yr break is about 120k but the value of rest to my health and wellness is priceless.

if you need a break, take it.

120k includes your forgone salary, school fees and living expenses?

One thing's for sure. Those students who need a gap year are so soft they will never get anywhere in life except to spend their parents' money. They are destined for failure. Needing a break even before working?! What's that? Needing a break from a break?

What happens when they have to actually get a job and support a family?
