For PE(Mechanical) , is it recommended to sign up for the courses at NTU? Or is it sufficient to self-study? This is coming from someone who has left school for a while already

If you don't have a recognised degree from PEB, u can forget about it. If it is an overseas degree and u didn't not study in the country of origin, you can forget about it too.

Or are u talking about preparing for FEE and PPE when u have a recognised degree?

Personally i feel that FEE self study of past notes is more than sufficient. Some tutorial questions from NTU were more difficult that questions from the exam.

PPE is mostly about statutory requirements and how you apply them.

I did not go for any courses, but if you are the type that memorise everything before an exam and return everything to the teacher after the exam, then i think u need more help.

Yes, considering to prepare for FEE, have a recognised degree issued by a local institution that is also accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Board. My degree is not directly under mechanical engineering (although there is some overlap) , hence I'm trying to gauge the difficulty of self-prep vs going to NTU for the prepatory courses.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

check with peb first if u're eligible before studying. else will be wasted effort.
deg needs to be "mechanical engineering". if not directly under mechanical engineering, probably not eligible. the uni also must be only either NTU or NUS.

Local institution that is recognised by PEB is only NTU and NUS. Better to check directly with PEB. You can just email in to ask.

If your degree is listed in EAB IES which is in Part IV of PEB recognised list, you can apply if it is related, if not go ahead and apply for Masters in NUS, NTU or SIT

ppe results are out. can check by logging into peb website.
no need wait for the letter.
at the login page, above the login ID u should see "Application for PE Registration". Not "PE-RG Login" and also not "PE Login".

Fail or pass will also be able login. If cannot, "forget password" to reset.

If pass will see "apply of PE" at the left side.
If fail will see "apply for PPE".
