You’re wrong. Like how your parents were wrong when they decide to have you.

Evidently, you've chosen the wrong engineering to major in. Civil Engineering pays the lowest of the lot unless you're a professional engineer.

Get promoted as long as don't screw up
GSK (start 2015) - no 13th month
Year 1: 3.5k
Year 2: 3.7k
Year 3: 3.9k, normally get 1 promotion (10% increment) 4.3k
Year 4: 4.5k
Year 5: 4.7k, got another promotion (12%) 5.2k
Good performance can get promotion every 1.5 years, so in 5 years can get 3 promotions would make it 5.8k but i was not good enough.
Year 6: jump to Pfizer 6k starting
My take is it s mostly the same for same industry, the difference is not much once you consider bonuses, benefits.

May I know what position are you in? Process Eng, Production Eng, Maintenance, Technician, etc. MSD is advertising 5,000 to 7,000 for 3 years experience PTO Engineer though...
What are the prospect of Process Engineer in Pharma other than going the typical route: senior engineer>lead>manager>head>associate director>director?
Which Pharma pay the most? Is it common for Process Engineer to jump within Pharma?
Thanks! From a graduating junior who needs career advice in Pharma...

Tech is a bit harsh, if you cant make it. You will make worse than your current job. Probably 4k to 5k in the next 10 years.

Seems like PE is one of those high risk low reward job. Just look at those PE who are in jail bcs of the mistakes of their junior member of team
