How useful is a bachelor of economic?
Hi all. Im ord this yr, entering uni next yr. In school, i did very well in maths and sciences and not that good in languages and hummanities.
I had a place in nus engineering, but reading the opinions here makes me worry about getting underpaid/overworked in the future.
So i pose this qn to all you already working, how useful will a b.s economic( SMU likely) be? What job opportunity does the degree opens up?

Seems you are good in engineering. If you think you can't do well in econs, why not get an engineering degree but work in other industries (eg finance) when you graduate? Since you said you did very well in maths and sciences, I don't think it's too hard for you to graduate at or near the top of your uni programme, which will definitely help you clinch jobs at any place.

Hmmm.... possible career opportunities if you have a degree in Econs...
1) Various jobs in banking and financial sector
2) Analyst
3) MAS
4) Lecturer in Econs
5) And last but not least... insurance agent
