Question

So Daniel,

as an economics student, what do you think of engineering as part of Singapore's economy in the future? [forecast]

will we be able to be at the same par as those engineers in the states, germany and japan?

thanks

I'm actually doing Computer Science now- not Economics. Funny how life turns out.

Well, I really don't know. I guess as an engineer now, I'm as eager as you to find out. I do feel your pain, though... working at a startup later this year

And by pain I mean when a non-engineer orders you around. But by and large in Silicon Valley, engineers are king. Most business types are engineers who pick up the business side of stuff

No- I'm still bonded to the police. But I've got one summer where I can find my own internship- and I thought working in a startup as an engineer would be a valuable experience to have (especially for someone in govt- everyone seems to just do a consultancy/finance internship nowadays).

Going through the recruiting process now, so if any of you have any contacts/etc who would want to take an computer science guy (can code, design, and can work for practically anything) it would be awesome

I heard the US job market is quite bad now, even for interns. Is it really that bad?

Since you already get allowance from your scholarship, why don't you offer to work for free? I'm sure people will hire you that way!

Hi Danial
I am ur ex neighbour at 8th floor of your block.
As a PS, u will have a very bright assured future with the Sg Garment.

But somehow, just feel that u can even do very much better without a PS or schorlarship

It's not that bad... especially if you have an engineering degree

I won't work for free, unless I work for a development organization/nonprofit. People generally pay very well for engineering talent here.

Hi Laguna, which one? Sims drive or Ubi? Anyway thanks, but I made the decision to be bonded so we'll see how that goes
