Not everyone the same. Some may even stuck at ME5. I met 3 different late forties - early fifties "uncles" i.e. should be near max CEP. One ME5, one ME6 and one ME7. I notice the ME5 can't talk well. ME6 and ME7 can talk like radio DJs. Also, hard not to notice their super-shiny no. 3 black shoes and super-ironed uniforms.

It's still a better deal than joining some aircraft maintenance license training programme as degree holders, getting 2500 dollars fixed for 44 months, must pass all exams if not Kenna terminated and after passed out only to find out they have been conned..ie only extra license allowance 500 dollars but basic still 2500 dollars. Work in OPS line rain or shine, day or night and risking your license if anything happen to the aircraft that you sign.

If what you said is true then it's pretty good!!! Me4 officers can join outside aerospace sector after 4 years bond with rsaf? Will experiences in airforce be counted?

I think ME5's pay has a ceiling of ard $9k, dont think will hit $11k.
Early 30s hitting ME5 is definitely possible, even if not scholar.
ME4 working hours as a entry point for graduates depends very much on unit posted to.
it is common for the ME4s to work long hours. but it doesnt mean the higher ranks get to knock off earlier. thus, it would be good to check with friends on their actual working situation to know better.

That is just creative accounting by SAF. The ceiling is $9795, but this is only pure basic pay and does not include any form of cash allowance or cash-in-lieu payments. When you add all of them together, ME5 real ceiling is close to $14k.

cash allowances are dependent on vocation, deployment and projects.

good luck
I just came out of the forces not too long ago. Last august infact. ME1 though, good luck if u wish to go in. To me, its a good organization with hell lots of good benefit, but manage by ..... U can sit in a meeting for hours to discuss on "what-if" that never happen, if u are 'fortunate' to be posted to Airbase, Shift work is ur best friend. U should start training ur patient if u want to work in there, cos a computer takes just under 5 min to boot up. Wow, awesome. And being a ME4 u dun really have ur life, cos if u got an ass hole up there, den ur life will be pretty much shitty. I have seen really good ME4 that work really hard, learning and understanding the aircraft system, backing up the men and work for 12-16 hours a day. While there are much much more who are there to ask the men, "how ar? when can u fix the aircraft? how ar?"
For ME4 posted to any other unit, that i have no idea. So TS good luck. And there is a reason why they have problem recruiting. If u want to be in there, be someone that will be respected by ur men, else, i see no purpose.
I maybe wrong, well thats just my view.
