32M
No count CPF in networth
Single, live with parents
15k Cash (Emergency fund)
180k+ in stocks (ETFs - Not a stock picker)

Started off my wealth accumulation late because I had to pay back uni study loan for my first 2 years of working. Feel a bit behind my peers whose parents paid for their uni sch fees

Female 24/yr old

Cash holdings: $350k
Stocks: $40k
Income: 3k

I’ve recently had some family inheritance and wondering how I can leverage on stocks with my cash holdings or if I should buy a property with it.

Husband 38 years old /wife 39 years old
Combine income: S$300k/annum

Stocks S$1.6m
Cash S$0.2m
CPA OA - NIL
CPA SA combined S$200k
HDB S$760k (fully paid)

Term plan: S$1m each
Husband: S$0.1m life insurance

Happy problem next:
Option 1) buy condo? => Work your ass off for next 10 years and don't even know whether there is any high pay job left
Option 2) sell HDB and get BTO since husband may be out of job soon then lepak lepak=> become full time stay home dad, life is good, play PS4/5

I will buy stocks first - ETF if you don't have time to stock pick

Now am coming 38...

Took a 15 mths of career break since early 2017
for some personal reasons.

Realize that unnecessary expenses actually go down when not working - we have no kids
and mthly expenses about 4K+ combined, only debt is housing paid entirely using cpf OA mthly.

Back to workforce soon & thankful able
to fetch similar salary.

With our low combined networth near to 1mil, ( really pale in comparison with most posts) we will continue work on it by saving most of salary & buy growth stocks using bonus or comms.

Striving to continue to live simple and work towards achieving financial freedom (I hope).

Combined Assets
—————————
Cash 126k
Cpf oa 70k
Cpf sa 150k
Cpf ma 100k
Housing 630k
Stocks & endowment 130k
Car 13k (scrap next year, value back -
will go carless coz no kids don’t need car)

Liabilities
—————
housing loan 223k (9 years remaining)

2020 now n recap at near age 40
Combined Assets
—————————
Cash 286k
Cpf oa 113k
Cpf sa 225k
Cpf ma 116k
Housing 680k
Stocks & endowment 140k

Quite a far bit of growth in oa and sa due to additional wages (comms)
Extended bank loan till age 52 with
remaining 202k loan

Not much movement in stocks
purchase due to job
insecurity and Covid

Some questions to start if you don't mind:
- how is the tax situation surrounding these properties? Eg, we all know about residential's ABSD and AV taxes, what's the situation on these sorts?
- How did you go about finding out these properties are up for sale? Or was this built from ground up etc?
- Are there any pitfalls here that you could share? There are plenty of residential property investment stories here and i'd love to hear more about the non-resi ones.

thanks man
Sure man, sorry lag as I just saw this. No ABSD on this. AV taxes is approx 1 month rent. I found these by hunting man because residential was too hot for me to afford. Pitfalls? I learnt that whatever property you buy, it is not liquid assets.
