Yes, it's true. I did it by leveraging up and buying and selling 3 condos between 2003 and 2010. Made around $1.4M. Savings from 12 years of working amounted to another $850K (wife and myself combined). My current terrace house (bought in 2010) has a paper gain of $300K. All in all, that's how we built up a net worth of $2.55M
Our household income is over $200K for the past 4 years.

For those holding cash, how are you guys maximizing your returns?
Just to float an idea across anyone be interested in a kopi session to discuss about investments and trends? Just an initial session for a small group with a minimum investment (liquid) of 250K, for members actually registered on the site?
Been looking at some market specialist about worldwide crash etc so, market currently is also all over the place. Inflation/Deflation have no idea whats gonna happen next.

I can only say this. The rich gets richer and the poor gets more clueless. Being on the wrong side of the wealth divide can blind you to what rich and successful people have and can achieve

hi, the question is that can you create an allocation that is All Weather? the top hedge fund manager for the past few years have been Ray Dalio of bridgewaters.
although people asked about what he thinks of the europe and fiscal situation, his advice to investors is simple. focus on an allocation that will work in all weather.
for that it draws similarity to the Permanent portfolio > The Permanent Portfolio– The holy grail for investing?
the asset classes balanced out themselves and rebalancing is the key to this. it is noted that the volatility of the portfolio in the great financial crisis was less than 4%.
for an idea of what dalio's all weather portfolio will look like you can tune in here > The “All-Weather” Portfolio Derivation CSSA

Won't mind sharing/learning some tips of investment & property management/investment from those around.
And if you must ask yes it was the help of Old money, not the whole lot but enough to kick start my foray into the property market. UOB and other banks helped with the rest.
