On the generic MX scheme, a "youngish" DD between 35-40 would probably take home between 8-10k. Assuming a 16month package all in, that would be 128-160k.

Not impossible, if you are a laojiao DD, maybe 45 up? With a >16 month package if you are a good performer? The variable would be the performance bonus. Ranges from 2.5 to 4 months.

I thought DDs are MX10 and basic pay would be more than 10k/month?

SADs and DDs are MX10. And no, basic is not more than 10k a month, especially for younger DDs.

fresh grad deciding between 2 offers from diff agencies, diff job scope.

1. 1 yr contract. able to extend depending on perf within 1st 6 months.
2. 2-3 yr contract. likely no emplacement unless someone in the dpt leaves.

say if I take on the 2-3yr contract would there be any chance for promotion pay raise etc within that period?
is promotion likelier if I complete the 1 yr contract and get offered to renew?

appreciate any advice tia.

For 1 you said "extend" or did you mean "emplace"? If it's extend and not emplace, then 1 and 2 are the same. If you are looking for a permanent position, emplacement is the magic word.

Contract roles usually offer the exact same benefits as perm roles, including annual raises, and all bonuses such as performance bonus, mid and end year bonuses, 13th month. Can double check with HR. HOWEVER, you cannot be promoted if you are not emplaced aka perm post.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply.

Did check with HR on whether it would be just an extension or emplacement. they said it is all dependent on performance.

would you know, generally, if I do get to continue would it mean emplacement? assuming the dpt has the headcount, given that the role got reposted on careersgov

check with hr if you are entitled to full benefits of permanent staff
since both contract, role 1 1 year you know if renewal or emplacement, role 2 take 2-3 year then you find out can renew or emplace
