Your annual increment is $500 on average. This is really fast. Some may not even hit 6k after 10years

Applied as SM but got M instead. Pay wise not significant increase from current
Possible to nego with hr or is it set in stone?

Sometimes other than work experiences, it also depends how mich confidence the interviewers have in you to do an SM job. So put you as M first to see how you perform.

when the earlier poster sai pay wise not much diff, I'm not sure if poster considered the total package as civil service total package may be more than his earlier total pay package.

I see, thanks for your sharing. I was pegged to superscale cep, maybe that's why. But I believe my increments moving fwd will be much lesser. Seems like average performers can only get $200+ increase.

It's quite sad that the pay has not been revised since 2015 while the cost of living has gone up yearly. For a $100 to $200+ yearly increment, we are sometimes getting less and less pay (in real terms) each year!
