As someone pointed out earlier, to get from MX10 to MX9 is a challenge because you are essentially placed on superscale. Most ppl once on superscale are unlikely to leave service and thus the bosses want to make sure that the MX9-ers are of a certain quality. As of now, i wouldnt leave service if i am superscale unless i have really really really compelling reasons.

But as I earn more, i learn more about myself and human being. I used to think that i would be happy with 5k monthly gross. But now, i find myself wanting more. It's unhealthy and I try to curb such desire for more. Now my target is to hit above 100k per annum. Now just hit above 90k.

I also curious to know. Is the starting pay of all fresh grad @ MX13 from "pass" to "good honors" degree also adjusted upward? Ie by 10% more?? Because in Feb 2012 most people from MX12/11 is getting upward by 10% more!!

For year 2011

Job grade: MX13
Job title: Management Executive
Pay scale: up to S$2,800 for fresh graduates

Those with NS will get approx addition $300 - $500 more

Nope.. the salary revision in Feb was a one-off increment for the lower income civil servants who were drawing a pathetic low salary for too long a time.... Most fresh grad starting salary remains unchanged for most ministry and stat boards.....
HR doesn't need to offer a fresh grad a higher than the usual market rate before he even starts to contribute to the oragnisation.... No need to disappoint yourself wth your wisful thinking...

I do agree one-off increment for the lower income civil servants is needed, but is only limited to the MSO(those poly grads) personnel. That's why they are given +15% increment.

But those MX12/11/10 are already getting high salary even before the Feb salary adjustment!!

Got 1 guy posted last Oct2011 in other thread in salary.sg forum, that time(approx 6 months ago) he already earning $4800+ in a ministry with slightly more than 4 years of exp @ MX11 which he got promoted in apr2010, with 2nd upper. He was from the 2007 NUS batch.

And just few days ago, I think he, the same person posted his salary again in other salary.sg forum thread, now after the Feb adjustment + Apr2012 merit increment, he is getting $5700+(annual salary slightly more than 90K) with just 3 more months to hit 5 years exp with the ministry since fresh grad. The point is he is just a normal farmer, non-scholar.

You can ask anyone on the street, how many engineer can actually get this kind salary for 5 years of exp in the same company. (excluding oil/gas industry, excluding financial/banking sector and commission base job).

how is it possible that someone who started work in 2007 has a starting pay that is even more than my current pay when i started working in 2003

and still have to be in service as of 31 Jan 2012. those who join after that, don't have.

I suppose all these info are from the same person.

6 months ago in Oct2011, he stated that his salary is already $4800+ at MX11.

by Feb2012 salary +10% salary increment = $4800 x 1.1 = $5280+

by Apr2012 salary, since he promoted quite fast to MX11, I assume he is 'B' performer, base on other info for the merit increment for MX11 @ B grade, it is another +8.8% merit increment

==>Final salary in Apr2012= $5280 x 1.088 = $5744 (is a very good guage of the 5.7k salary he stated)
