Senior exec salary range in NTU
Dear All,
Anyone have an idea of the salary range of a SE pay package in NTU?
I've heard some masters/phd students in ntu telling me it is from $3.5k onwards.
Currently I'm getting $2.8k as a Project Manager in private sector (game dev)
I know it's low as I only a farmer with 1 local diploma, a specialist dip and 1 adv dip.
Will be going for the final interview soon and would like to find out abt the salary if it's near
my current pay of 2.8k. I have more than 10yrs work exp and NS (ROD soon cos 38 Liao).
Thks for your help.

I suppose all these info are from the same person.
6 months ago in Oct2011, he stated that his salary is already $4800+ at MX11.
by Feb2012 salary +10% salary increment = $4800 x 1.1 = $5280+
by Apr2012 salary, since he promoted quite fast to MX11, I assume he is 'B' performer, base on other info for the merit increment for MX11 @ B grade, it is another +8.8% merit increment
==>Final salary in Apr2012= $5280 x 1.088 = $5744 (is a very good guage of the 5.7k salary he stated)

good detective work. but i suspect this guy is an outlier if it is truely by the same person. I dont think is representative of the majority of civil servants. seriously, if most civil servants can earn this kinda pay, i would quit my private sector job.

I am also an ex-teacher. Same experience as you. Applied to other ministries and stat boards and there's no news at all. Some of the more popular and prestigious ones rejected me within a week.
Went for a few interviews in the private sector (education related) and they all tried to give me entry level pay based on the argument that teaching experience is unrelated to the industry and therefore cannot be counted as having experience.
There is a 3 year bond for all beginning teachers. For those of you who are not sure about staying on as a teacher, don't apply because after 3 years, it is difficult to get another job elsewhere without suffering a pay cut, especially if you are a general degree holder without specific specialisation like engineering and IT for instance. I thought I wanted to "save souls" and realised too late that only God can do that and in the process lost my own.
Also, postgrad qualifications are not recognised. I have a Masters and 2 years of prior work experience but both not recognised and not remunerated.

Lastly, I took ~3 years for every 1k jump. Now earning 5.7k for less than 5 years experience. 2nd upper male with ns. not a scholar. in a ministry MX scheme. first job since graduation.

Non-scholar and non-MX scheme. 1K jump every ~2yrs. Start $3K+. Close to $7K after 7 years.

my relative is a scholar in DSO but not on MX scheme and AO scheme. she told me but i don't really get it. and the scheme promotes ppl in ascending order?!
as in usually, it's MX12->MX11->MX10 but hers is ascending e.g. 4->5->6.
