You can choose to be honest. But then they wont listen anyway
Say you are nuts
Complain you bring disrepute to profession.
Or you can be in on the joke. Scoop up their adulations.
Feel good that you are dr when so many these kids dying to be one
Guess what most drs choose?

I think medicine is still A good career
Respect and decent income

Our median income really higher than the rest of the faculties

I think most of the negativity comes from the MOPEX/residency cycle that every HO has to go through.

If you are from a rich family, the best plan will be to study Med school overseas and complete speciality training before coming back to SG

Housemanship MO residency overseas is just as difficult as Singapore
Mostly because Singapore has made it easier so it is about as difficult as the ones abroad.
So no difference anymore.

Aiyah.
Just strawberries la.
There are blogs of some of them paying 400 to 500k to break bond

Family is rich then can cough up that amt
Family no money break what bond
Somehow work stress only affects rich pple.
Ur family poor u think about how to work hard to get them out
Of the poverty cycle but if family rich suddenly mental health, leading a fulfilling life, quiting my job so I can set up a shelter for dogs, cats or raise funds for refugee in Ethiopia becomes important to you.

Nabei

I agree with u. Most medical students have rich parents
When they graduate, they realise they can’t earn as much as their rich parents INITIALLY
Hence they complain a lot.

But those with poor parents are enjoying their above median salaries and wondering why these spoilt brats are complaining

Any median performer who passes the MBBS will be guaranteed a salary of 200K/year as a private GP eventually.

This is unlike in other faculties where getting an upper second or even first class, is by no means any guarantee of a 6 figure annual sum
