Which firms won't mind a NUS 2.2 for TC? If I manage to pull my GPA to a low 2.1, what are my chances of Big 4? Worth waiting?

A shortcut is to find out which partners scored a 2:2 from NUS and apply to them direct.
They tend to be more forgiving.

Same principle applies to those from delisted.
If you’re from Manchester, apply to a firm where the partner is from Manchester.
Easier to get in.

Of course if you’re a NUS 2:2 and you apply to that firm in MBFC tower 1, where if you want to get into purely by merit, they only take in fch. There are those with 2:1 or 2:2 there but they got in through connections.

I have 20 files to work on. 10 are due by the end of this week.
But I’m paying it forward so here goes.

1. If you are good looking, talk well, and have stage presence, a 2:2 is enough.
You can still get in to certain firms that value such things, such as the firm with Wall Street work.

2. If you’re a NUS fch, you either apply for JLC or Baker or CC.
If you can’t get those three, then apply for B4.

3. If you’re a NUS 2:1, B4 should be not an issue unless you mess up the interview.

4. If you’re a NUS 2:2, usually most go on to do criminal and family law.
In the past before suss was set up, NUS 2:2 could easily get in to any firms that does criminal and family law. But now you have to compete with the suss graduate who is definitely much better due to focus on fam and crim.

5. So what should a NUS 2:2 do? Keep sending out CVs to every firm.
Hopefully a few would call you for interviews and you decide from there on which one best suits you.

2:1 is 50 shades of gray. Do you mean a borderline 2:1 or a good 2:1 for B4

A simple 2:1 would usually get you an interview in at least one of the B4. The rest is how you perform during the interview.

Not everyone can clear the interviews.
Not everyone want to work in a B4.
Some prefer mid size for a more balanced lifestyle.

Do most of the NUS simple 2.1s get B4 interviews with one B4?
