Anecdotally clients being only human prefer single good-looking associates too so please take off the wedding band if you're wearing one before client presentations

Hi, to return us to the topic of "lawyer salary" as this forum is befittingly called, can I check what are the salaries for mid-sized firms these days. For a little context, I am offered retention at a mid-sized firm but I want to know if my firm pays the market rate. My firm is in Legal500 (but at the bottom half of the tiers - but hey at least it is still in Legal500 right!) and Chambers. What are the rates for such firms and also how much is the yearly increment? Can some kind seniors or practitioners please shed some light? And no it is not nearly as big as the likes of Rodyk or Shooklin. Think boutique firm. Thanks in advance!

Please state firm’s name. Otherwise very difficult to advise. You don’t have to be direct. Just describe it. Like for eg, when I want to refer to a certain big 4, I say straits trading building. And everyone knows.
Please expect $4-4.5k (gross) for mid tier firms, e.g. L&L, RHT, etc.

U r joking right? 4-4.5k sgd is like less than 3k pounds.
singapore market is really seriously depressing wages.
most jobs outside easily pay $4k plus and doesn’t even require law degree.
granted it is hard work 10’hours a day.
perhaps those in mid sized law firms work much lesser hours?
then it be worth the $4-4.5k salary.

$4.5k for L&L and RHT sounds about right. But bear in mind these firms are well known to be quite cheapo.
Not all mid size firms are the same. And mid size doesn't mean mid tier. One is just a reference to headcount while the other refers to market standing.
Some mid size firms actually pay very well & are as reputed as the big 4 for the kind of practices they are strong in.

Yes they may pay approx $4.5k, but don't forget that this is prior to bonus.

If my source is correct, the hours of LL are equivalent to big4s. They work late into the night and weekends are burnt from time to time. But this is what u can expect if you are in liti I suppose.
