You are very well paid Superman! May I know what you are doing? I am a fresh grad and I do not know which industry is well paid. Someone offered me $2000 per month. Is that acceptable or it's way too low for a Degree holder?

it's really the individual that makes the difference. you can be a deg holder earning < 3k and still be happy with the lifestyle you're leading and you can also be a dip holder earning > 3k but still feel underpaid because of the lavish lifestyle you're leading.

how??

dip holder work at town, deg holder work tuas near his hse at jurong...
dip holder drink starbucks, deg holder drink kopitiam
dip holder buy LV, deg holder buy giordano
dip holder drive car black plate, deg holder drive red plate

Diploma holders staying in HDB can be much happier than a Degree or PhD holder living in pte properties, esp if they are bosses... cos mind you, it can be lonely being a boss at work.

ever heard of the phrase, "money or life?" ???

unless money can guarantee you happiness, why bother too much about the diff? if you're in that median range, be happy! there's no end to comparison! superman's got 4k, another guy's got 5... and a salesman with dip got 10... another one's already a millionaire...

so y bother?

Degree holders in Electrical/electronic engineering do not earn a lot. Close to what Dip holders earn. So cheer up, Dip holders! You are not doing too badly!!!

Default Why go for a degree then?

If poly grads are able to command 2/3 of what degree holders are able to, why would anyone with the right mind want to go the extra mile shedding so much blood and tears to get a degree?

2/3 is too high for you? How low should it go in order for you want to go the extra mile?

20% to 25% of what a degree holder is earning would be good.
