Since you are debt free, you can both afford to take life easier. Don't need to earn so much. There is a point in our life when our sanity and free time is more valuable than that extra dollar. All of us will die anyway to meet our One and Only Creator. This dunya is just a passing phase. Are you prepared to answer the 3 questions in your grave?

pls don say its ur parents. that's gonna be a real joke. another one of those "parents want kid to study xxx/work in xxx" story. none of them end well. the kid feels miserable for doing something they dun wanna do. then one day when the kid cant take it n quit, parents realise they have caused their kid so much stress due to their stupid "aspirations", everybody is miserable.
good parents give advice but let their kids make the final decision. im sure they will give stronger advice if its a seriously problem choice like deciding to become an artist instead of doctor, but if its something like study engineering or business or work in bank or government, theres nt much difference and all choices r good in their own ways.

Fact is most banking jobs are more like what you descibe, you can either hang on to the job hoping that after some time you can request for transfer or just look for another job you like regardless of industry.
Personally I don't think you should waste time in the bank doing a job you don't like. From what you are describing seems like you have no intention to go after the jobs that can truly pay well anyway, so why bother languishing in a job you hate to do? Just because of some vague thinking you should work in a bank? Doesnt make sense.

Totally agreed and +1.
This is another loser who will fail in life. He reminds me of those talk big type who will go around flaunting their love and "passion" for banking and finance. Hahahha. Oh, this goes for the clueless FO folks too.
