28yo here drawing 2.9k this year. earned 40k for whole of 2013. basically im stuck in a situation where my diploma is sh1t n not recognized for any exemption of modules by uniSIM / simGE.
im only interested in uniSIM part time night courses aka BSc business / finance but it will take me 3 to 4 years to graduate with the 130 credit units needed...also unsure if the ministry im in, MHA will recognize my degree or not...i have absolutely no interest in degree in security / computer science of any sort. i can afford to fund myself for the entire degree course n dont wish to be bonded.
doesnt help when i work at pasir ris, stay at bedok reservoir n uniSIM is at clementi lol
so fi_east, in ur opinion, do u think it's wise for me to pursue a degree?

Wow.. ur only 28 and already earning 2.9k which in my opinion is high for a diploma holder.. im already 30 and still long way there, hence shortcut therr is only by a degree.. if not wrong even if u take private deg pay wise can maybe go 3-3.5k i think.. which in 3-4 yrs time u sure can reach there with ur current job and diploma.. but unless u want go higher level like executive or management level than a degree is a need.. with a degree i also felt ur salary jump also might be higher with every promotion..
i also from mha but in one of the uniform unit.. how long u work as mso already?.. im only here abt a yr and have total abt 3.5yrs of working experience only.. nowadays earning $2200 not enough for spore though environment..

i been getting C grade for PB every year since i joined. annual increment at $100.
i think i got more den 15% increment last time. not sure, what they give i just take. but i srsly think is very unfair for those who joined after 2012 n nvr get the adjustment of the major increment to their salary...

How's the working culture as a MSO and TSO? Is it everyday 9-6pm? and juventusfc27, is getting C grade a norm every year? Getting grade A and B is difficult?
