Hi, i'm aware that there are many gov sector that offer MSO positions. To name a few, MHA, SCDF and MOE. Any thoughts on which gov sectors are more ideal to embarked on?

dear TS, im assuming n rly hoping that u have a local diploma from the 5 recognized polytechnics at the very least b4 u consider taking up the role of a MSO.

reason that i say this is bcos it takes freaking long to be promoted from MSO 6 to MSO 5. minimum time taken is AT LEAST 5 to 6 years for promotion. so ur better off taking a degree if u intend to stay long / ur whole life in the govt service. the annual increment is 50 to 80 for MSO scheme iirc...

b4 u think im ********ting, im a dip holder holding TSO 6 rank now under MHA SPF PCG. i've been working in govt service for 4 yrs. slightly higher pay den MSO but 200-300% more physical work to be done compared to MSO...

below is attached pic of MSO 6 with diploma taken from SPF website. dont waste ur time on MSO if u dun even have a diploma...hard facts bro.

Hi do you have any info with regards to the career progression in Home Team Specialist Scheme?

Stressfullsociety 11-01-2014 11:20 AM

dear juventusfc27, thanks for the input! =) Ya, i'm a diploma holder. Going for my part time degree in UniSim this year.
Just to clarify, I suppose TSO are related to lab technician? How's the working hour like? cus i'm having lessons in the evening.

Hi, Which MSO do you belong to? I went to check in the web, it seems like the job scope of MSO is general administrative. No much room to shine though.
