As a BT, I work closely with one particular teacher from my department (whom I will be replacing as she’s leaving). Whenever I ask her questions she often speaks to me in a loud, condescending tone in the staff room, especially with her passive aggressive behaviour. She is constantly rude to me like she speaks to her P5 or P6 pupils. She often threatened me l as though its the end of the world whenever I made mistakes or things that I didn’t know or rather didn’t ask.
Really in need of advice what are the things I should really take note of especially knowing that I will be taking over all her classes at the same time knowing she’s not helping at all for the transition. I really want to help my students to do well despite very minimal resources which I just started building.
Apologies if I’m rambling. Really depressed thinking how to survive my first year.
Thank you to whoever is reading out there.

Chin up! I was quite depressed when I first started my journey as well as I did not have a very good practicum experience at the same school so I was quite dismayed when i knew it was almost 100% guaranteed I would stay in the school. I told myself nvm, worst case is I can leave after 2 years.
Fast forward to 2022 and it's my 4th year teaching at my school. Workload is heavier than ever but I felt that at elast now that I know people and people know me, the work is bearable. There are still colleagues that also ignore me or don't return my salutations. But that's fine if you don't really work with them. Relationships take time to build, especially for people who have existing social circles already. Give yourself some time and i'm sure people will see your sincerity.
And if at the end things don't work out, good thing is we really have that option to post out! All the best and cheer up~

Nothing will happen I guess. I know of KPs in my school who did not clear the HOD interview hence, are still SHs

I know of VPs who only pass after the first interview. I assume it's the same at other levels.
Not sure if it's possible to do so badly at the interview that you're barred from subsequent attempts - would imagine such cases would be rather rare.

I’m in week 7 out of 10 of my final teaching practicum for the NIE PGDE program (EL/MA). I would like to ask if anyone knows the deadline for when schools must appoint a moderator for possible fail cases?
I have a decent working relationship with my CTs but always borderline on pass/emerging on my APT forms.

For those who might be failing, usually week 9 is for moderation. This usually involves the school leader sitting in. Before that, your CTs would have given you a trail of feedbacks which forms part of the documentation (verbal or otherwise). Good luck!

Firstly, nowadays VP interviews are extremely rare. Minimally, you have to be SEO 1 and usually if you are considered a farmer, they would want you to cross and handle 2 different portfolios at least, or have 2 different school experiences. Your CEP can be raised or depressed, but usually rare, if you are a younger officer, as you have a longer runway to improve and attempt a 2nd round down the years. For SH/HOD posts, usually if your Principal is kind enough, they can send you again in the subsequent year but they have to make sure that you have sufficient knowledge and experience to pass the interview, or else it will reflect quite badly on them. So don't take it that the failure at the interview is the end of the world, it actually open up doors or opportunties for your SLs to work with you and to help you showcase with more stuff on your plate. So really depends on how you look at it.

Anyone knows when the application window for trained teachers will be open?
Website only states dates for 2021, not 2022.
Anyone knows how much is the salary for contract adjunct? Is it worth it to be contract adjunct teacher?

It depends. Suitable but not ready- school might send the person again.
Not suitable- remain as teacher or explore ST-ship.
In both cases, cep might not drop so soon. It might be dropped in time to come if the teacher is not keen to become an ST.
