Nope. It's based on your first degree and level of honours.

I'm a male chinese language (primary) teacher.

BTW, if I happen to pass the interview and go for the attachment, will I not be eligible for promotion until when I've come back to Singapore.

Hope to heard from you all soon.
Would love to find out about this too

PGDE (Distinction) is not that difficult to attain with at least a credit for practicum and GPA of 4.5 and above. Not really difficult.
Oh roughly how many percent gets a GPA of 4.5 then? Just curious.
And does NIE achievements affect anything?

Hi, do anyone know was the success rate for PDGE on first application? Let say I don’t have much experience, just giving private tuition here and there.

Don't think there's success rate per se as the interviewers are generally looking out for candidates who would fit into the ideal teaching candidate profile. You may like to highlight your private tuition experience during your interview to give yourself the edge.

I got distinction for practicum. Yes, moderation is needed by external assessor, and mine was an unannounced visit. The prerequisite? You CTs and SLs must think that you are good enough to recommend that.

Did it affect anything? Definitely not my salary. CEP? I doubt so. Impression that people have on you, yes. 10 years down the road, I don't think it has much effect on anything.

I know of a senior, back then it was super duper easy to get into teaching.. Cos moe was actively increasing its strength from 28,000 to 33,000.

Even then, it took her 4 attempts, each interval of 6 months apart.. In total, she took 2 years. Nus maths major..

The reality now is there are excess teachers.. Hence, many are encouraged to cross over to primary school.

MOE now just recruits teachers to replace the teachers who have resigned and etc..

It's alot harder now.

Default Dress code

Hv a question on dress code, hope to get some advice here. Is it OK for female teachers to wear sleeveless tops/blouses? I don't mean spaghetti stripes type, but sleeveless with broad shoulder coverage. For pants, how about mid calf ones or above ankle types?

My advise you should wear mini skirt with g string which serves as an incentive for male students to pay attention to your class. When they do well naturally you will get good bonus and promotions.
