Should I continue my part time degree programme ?
Hi, seeking advice/opinion here,
Currently working in a law firm with less than 10 ppl. I being the admin staff there feel my knowledge/work is not appreciated and even get undermined by my boss and the new hr/Office Administrator. So my confidence and sense of self worth is greatly affected. I enrolled in a part time degree doing engineering as I feel I come from engineering background during poly days so feel like going back to study the related studies in a way also to make myself feel useful and confident while others in my office keep seeing me as a lowly admin staff.
I have many times want to rage quit but I do not want to lose my comfy $3k monthly salary which is alot to me. But still can't help having low moods as I feel I have been undermined in my role everyday.
Lately, I am thinking whether I might as well quit my job and study as I am not young, late 40s, by the time I graduate that is about 6.5 years if I take less modules to prevent burn out, then already big 5, even with the degree, who will hire me in my 50s ?
Should I just quit my brain draining job and quit my studies to save money for rainy days or quit my brain draining job but keep my studies for life long learning health benefits.

Truth is that reality hits you when you're 40s. People are no longer nice to you as compared to your 20s and 30s.

No offence but at your age taking a degree is not going to add value to you. Even if you take your studies full time you will be close to 50 when you graduate. Like you say who would want to hire a fresh grad at 50s? If i were you i will suck it up and work. Forget about studies and invest the money
