Red face

graduated with fch in sim-uol E&F
bank grad prog -4.2k

not convenient to disclose bank/position as it singles me out- turns out i was the only non-local grad accepted that year. i felt inferior initially but i did not spend 3 Aprils mugging and sacrificing sleep to let others outperform me when we're finally starting at ground 0 again. the feeling of inferiority due to pri uni degree will fade eventually because the sliver lining of that degree will prove to be useful in the long run. (if u dk what the sliver lining is, and if i could summarised it in one word, it's independence (IMO))

to all my juniors, (pls allow this old person to preach)

it's really not about where you come from but rather, what u can do and where you will go. never let someone tell you sim-uol degree is useless. it is only useless if you refuse to make the best out of it.

good luck job-hunting!

Hi care to share how did you ended up where you are now and how long did you take to get employed. Asking this because I will be graduating from uol e&f with fch expected in may this year. However I have sent out numerous applications since jan and so far all were either outright rejected or didn't get back to me (no interviews granted at all). I really dont want to be in a position where I finished my exams in may and waste my life everyday till I find a job.

2.4k-3k depending on how big the firm is. I know Deloitte accepts UOL FCH at 2.8K.

Its either you have a friend inside who can refer you or you apply online and pray. But not many people stay long in such programmes unless one gets into the front office (IBD/Research/FICC sales) which is of course very low possibility for UOL grads even if you get into the programme.
