Oh! I was told by some 38 yo talented high flyer M4.

"We ONLY hire E5 and E6 and groom them for long marathon."

Don't know why now got hiring beyond E5 & E6. I'm sure the M4 is talented and climb very fast despite not knowing the management of his company. hmmm.... this is the part when competency comes in.

Hi, is it common to be sent overseas to help with testing of systems (e.g. some NS exercise)? Are there very demanding conditions at such overseas training areas (e.g. have to sleep outfield with the troops) for civilian personnel?

have heard of it. Can you share what was offered to you to go overseas? e.g is there any monetary compensation, benefits like time off etc?

Off-in-lieu was mentioned to me in passing, since the overseas attachment would entail working on weekends and some weekday nights too. From what you heard, do you know if civilian personnel have better accommodations etc?

What's your current grading and salary? how long have you worked? is there more salary for the overseas posting? how long will it be for?
