So... What would the prospects be like for a foreigner looking to join GPP as an investment associate (career advancement, pay, hours)? How important is background and CV vs. performance? For the former, can strong honors and a top school compete with being a government scholar from Singapore? Is it viable to exit to other asst mgmt, hedge fund, similar firms within or outside the country?

Let's be honest, if you are joining as an analyst you know gic pays ****. I'm armed with a first class honors from NTU and the figure they offered me to join as a risk analyst is offensive.

AVP in GIC is not the same as those title inflated banks. AVP should be going for 16-20k in GIC.
