Well, I know of a KP in charge of overseas trips going around telling the young officers who are arrowed that the Principal wants them to go because it will help boost their professional learning and progression.
Maybe its not as true as it sounds.

If you are doing well in other areas / previous years, taking on this additional duty is likely to do you well, even if you're not the main IC (could even act as a tie-breaker sometimes).
If you're not doing well, then you're probably just nominated to make up the head count.

Is it this bad in every school? 10-15 people on sick leave/CCL/other kind of leave every day and many on late arrival. There are also many on course and made worse this term because of the SYF and sports competitions. I am doing relief almost 2-3 times every week. There are many FAJTs and RTs but they also take leave!
It makes me feel that the responsible ones are the ones being "punished" for showing up.

On Meditation:
“Still the mind… empty the mind, relax. Look at yourself as a third eye from above and be aware of where you are in this cosmos – that you’re just a little particle. Get a sense of proportion that you’re just a little bit of this huge universe. Ignore your face. Ignore your body, and when you are deep in meditation, forget everything.”
“I believe we should teach meditation in schools because that will save going to the doctors, taking Valium or whatever.”

Exactlyyyyy on the same sentiment. Honestly, I am really burning the hell out. I am only serving my third year in the service! No work life balance. Marking and workload is a nightmare. What is the MOE exactly doing?????
Can't wait to finish my bond and be a free bird.

Diploma PDGE
I'm doing contract teaching my intake is July 2024. I am posted to a school in mid February. What are the chances MOE will take me in for July intake? How do they decide? Why do I hear commonly contract has to serve 1 year before entering NIE?

Cos when you contract teach for 1+ year, that's when moe can really assess you on your suitability.
