You will have MI after 1 year of your service, after which, they will pro-rate your MI in Apr, so as to match the whole nation's MI.

i'm not sure if anyone experienced/experiencing similar situation as i do... i would like to hear ur views.
1. im currently a mx12 drawin $4,5xx , in svc of close to 5 yrs
2. high possibility that i will b promoted to mx11 nxt yr
i've been waitin for the promotion, however my boss only upgraded my cep in the last ranking session. i'm sick of the wait, hence seeking advice should i cont waitin or is it possible for me to jump to stats board holding a snr position?
will there be any significant pay increment if i cross over to stats board? or the increment will be close to my current pay?
thanks.

I guess your work performance plays a big part in climbing up the ladder in civil service. I worked in a stat board for 10 years (started 2005). Starting pay was $2.5k as a fresh graduate (SIM). Constantly being rated as above average performer. Promoted 3 times (Executive --> Senior Executive-->Manager ---> Senior Manager) in 10 years. Now drawing $6.2k (bonus excluded). 34 years of age.
I still feel i am underpaid compared to the corporate world.
I guess there's never enough.
