Thanks!
no difference

Default Salary range

Hi,

I have been working in a ministry for 4 years and is drawing $4.7k. I am keen to work in this other ministry in a similar job scope. I am being asked what is my expected pay by the 2nd ministry. Is there a typical salary increment market range that is reasonable to ask for?

seriously, 3.2k is for fresh grad (non-NS) at MX13 for year 2012. Few weeks back there is a female stating she is 2nd upper from local university, getting 3.2k in ministry fresh grad.

Job grade: MX12
Job title: Assistant Manager, Manager
Pay scale: S$2,805 – S$5,643 (Inclusive of 2012Feb wage adjustment)

Below is the starting pay for fresh grad @ MX13, 2012
* denote 2 years of NS.

1st Class Honours Degree
$3,752*/$3,384

2nd Class Honours (Upper) Degree
$3,568*/$3,200

Other Honours Degree
$3,438*/$3,070

Pass Degree (With Merit)
$3,288*/$2,920

Pass Degree
$3,088*/$2,720

Hey, thanks for your reply. But how did you know there's no difference in pay and promotional prospects between first-class honours and 2nd-upper honours? Because I've heard from different sources that there is. Are you working as a teacher as well?

Anyone else could help to answer my questions as well please?

If you have been offered pay difference between Ministries and Stat Boards, appreciate your inputs. Thanks

I just moved from a ministry to a stat board and the stat board actually matches my last drawn pay in the ministry. However, on the annum basis, I learn that its likely they wont match my remuneration package in the ministry.

Saw from another thread that stat boards' pay aren't as competitive though.. unsure which is honestly the case..

in that case, do you mean your statboard annual package is better than that of ministry annual package?

like to ask a qn here. lets say im earning 3k in a private coy now (2nd upper male wif ns), decides to join civil sector one yr later. will i get the pay that is pegged to my grades (3.6k eg) or will get a pay that is based off my latest salary (probably 3k + 200 = 3.2k)?

assuming your 1 yr of exp in private sector is relevant to the ministry, your civil service pay will be 3.6k + 1 year of increment(5% = 180) = 3780 approx @ 15mth annual package

3780 x 15(could be more if perform well) = 56700
