why is this not possible?
i am 35yr old in LTA, just a grade 9 (similar to mx11a).. but i am the RO for 2 grade 9 and 2 grade 8.. one of them has a Masters from NUS.
i think what this poster say is highly possible. I am new to PS, unless you are saying this is possible in SB but not Min

Nope, fat hope! The employer is the same aka "Ah Gong", why should they pay you more? In private sector, job hope can fetch 10-20% increment because firms compete to get talent and the contacts/new business leads/experience/skills which the poached staff might bring along... within PS/CS, I don't think so... most likely when you change job, it will be a different job scope...
|
The only reason ppl resign and join is for pay increment. If pay was the same, might as well ask for secondment/posting instead.

Yes, they mainly look at years of exp. Masters/MBA are good for future mgmt roles, but aren't as relevant for junior roles.

Hmm is there even a point in getting FCH then, apart from the slightly higher starting salary? I always thought CS cared a lot about your grades haha.

Hmm honestly seems like these 2 NUS grads took a longer route thus still at mx11/a in mid-late 30s. Usually freshgrad especially fch reach mx11a in abt 4-5 years.
So will be age 28 or 29 around there.

Hahaha. Of course CS cares about grades for entry. But CS cares more about job performance after that.

is this really true about FCH usually get to mx11a at 28 29?
looking around me, i am the youngest mx10 in my division at 36yr old.
or is the route from mx11a to mx10 a tough one?
