company like keppel/sia/STengineering/micron/TECH/exxon/shell...alot more...etc...all pay fresh engineering grad 3k+/-$100, annual package also about 16mth+/-1mth, some even with stock option.....those fresh grad joining government, male can get 3.1kto 4k starting liao!!! Also every 2-3 years, these company do have upward wage adjustment to it employee on top of annual increment...

you company SUX!!!!!
Slowly but surely you will start to see the above mentioned companies take in more and more cheaper FT over Singaporean... FTs are cheaper, smarter and more hardworking.. Singapore engineering fresh grad only know how to ask for high starting pay when they don't even have what it takes... So many fresh grad still searching for their dream job for almost nearing 1 years.. Some who still living in their get-rich fantasy and going down to interviews asking for 3.5k.... Really wait long long... Who would want to employ this guy where you are priced so uncompetitively against the PRC engineer?? Time to wake up to reality....

i'm a fresh grad from nus and i put down 3.5K as my expected starting pay for all my interviews. So far im offered a starting pay ranging from 3.6K to 3.9K. All offers are from stat board. Government is willing to pay local engineer fresh grads the range from 2.8K to 4K. Engineers don be dishearted by the guy above. Even MNC are willing to offer a pay 2.8K to 3.4k for graduate program or management trainee program. U need to know the market value before you put down your expected pay.

I just changed from firmware engineer to logistics support!!! MORE PAY, MUCH EASIER TO DO. No need use brain btw. I think even Sec sch dropouts can do this, but they certainly cannot program low level drivers at bit bashing levels. I love the extra 400bux!!!

This is sad. Our society now awards mediocrity.

I dont know why you guys talk until engineering so s***. My bro (1 yr younger) grad from NUS engineering. I don't exactly know what field but I know he "da-bao" like mad. No honors. Only "pass degree"

He took some time but eventually started working at 2.6k. After 4-5 years, he is now drawing close to 8k. He complained for the 1st year (just like you guys) but from the 2nd year onwards he never complained about his job already.

He left ST and took some Oracle / S&P program course or something. His bonus damn gao and his working hours damn good.

Maybe he is just lucky? Or maybe it is only those CMI engineers that come to this forum to complain. No offence.

Btw, i'm not in engineering so I'm unbiased.

How long does he work in ST engineering? How many years experience in ST? I got a friend also starting 2.6k in ST, now only getting 3.4-3.5k(with 1 promotion) after 4.5 years..

How to hit 8k in ST??? Dun bullsh!t here!

Even if he left ST after 4-5years, how to hit 8k??? His new company give him 220% increment for jumping ship??!
