I told some juniors to consider going into investment banking. You may want to consider that.
If after a few years you still want to go back to legal practice, you always can.
Most importantly, find alternatives until the glut resolves

Investment banking? Which firm would want law students? Doubt a second upper from law school would be seen as valuable as a first class from business or econs.

Dont talk c ock make it sound like its so easy to get into IB. If someone were good enough to get into IB, he wouldn't have a problem getting a TC either

Its far easier to get a Big 4 TC than many positions in other industries actually. 1 interview, see your grades, can speak proper english, don't sound like a moron/bimbo, handsome or chio, bam you're offered! Compared with other industries like front office banking and consulting where competition for recruitment is absolutely brutal, law students are really a sheltered bunch actually.

A Commonwealth LLB ain't worth jack and has no value add for other industries. The only exception is if you had a JD from a good American law school. Only then you'll be considered equivalent to other MBA candidates because a JD is essentially a post-grad professional degree.

My firm isn’t hiring. Heard some MCs are not hiring too but you can always try.

Hear hear.

I jumped ship to financial sector one year back after throwing in the towel with 2PQE. Life is stable and pay pretty decent considering the hours I put in. To say that a middling law graduate with issues getting TCs can then waltz into big banks to do some legal/compliance stuff is ********, much less IB.
